![]() I mean, that was completely in line with the nearly all marketing for kids in the mid-90s. It's definitely a game you have to play before you die and I will definitely post again once I beat it. Especially since this isnt really my kind of genre. It's a brilliant game so far, and I am only about 2 hours in and it's clear that I am playing something VERY special. This incredible game is just as great and the PS1 version even retains the original translation, which from what I understand, is superior to the DS rerelease which censored some things. It really isnt bad at all but the way the internet and the Chrono fanbase talks about it, you'd think it was some monumental 10-15 second loading screen between every little action. Load times suggests a loading screen of some kind but it's more like a 2-3 second pause. The main complaint is the load times before battles but they really arent bad at all. A lot of people seem to consider this one a terrible port but I think its greatly exaggerated. I am actually playing the PS1 version on my PSP. I wont spoil anything, but theres a court trial scene earlier on that had me cracking up and I'm so excited to keep playing. The characters and world are charming as hell, the battle system is active so every battle feels more engaging but not too disorienting, and the writing is superb. I am only about 2 hours in and usually JRPGs are notorious for introductory "slog" but damn, this game pretty much trumped the tropes of its genre over 25 years ago, it's insane.
